Books Your Toddler will Love for BHM!


I’m black 365, but I love a reason to celebrate my blackness and our rich history. With our toddlers getting older, it’s time to include them even more in the celebration of black people.

One of the things I plan to do this month to integrate her into the celebration is to read more historical books and do appropriate activities (coloring sheets and etc) based on the book. Make sure you are following me on Instagram to watch us celebrate all month long.

One thing that I am encouraging families to also do is purchase the books they get from black owned bookstores. It’s important than when we invest in “black books” we make sure they are authored by black people. Buying from major chains like Barnes and Noble and Amazon are convenient, but it’s best to purchase these books from black owned bookstores if they have them in stock. Some of my favorite black owned bookstores are Be Bomb Book Club, Liberation Station Book Store, and Mahogany Books!
